9 декабря 2024 года, в Национальной Ассамблее Лаосской Народно-Демократической Республики (ЛНДР) во Вьентьяне состоялась встреча Патриаршего Экзарха Юго-Восточной Азии, митрополита Сингапурского и Юго-Восточно-Азиатского Сергия с председателем Национальной Ассамблеи ЛНДР г-н Сайсомпхон Пхомвихан.

В ходе беседы Патриарший Экзарх передал председателю Национальной Ассамблеи слова приветствия от Святейшего Патриарха Московского и всея Руси Кирилла. Затем митрополит Сергий рассказал о деятельности Русской Православной Церкви как в России, так и за её пределами, а также о текущем состоянии дел в Патриаршем Экзархате Юго-Восточной Азии.

Архипастырь выразил признательность г-ну Сайсомпхону Пхомвихану за содействие в деле устроения православного прихода во Вьентьяне. В свою очередь, председатель Национальной Ассамблеи высоко оценил деятельность Русской Православной Церкви в регионе Юго-Восточной Азии. Затем стороны обсудили широкий круг вопросов, охватывающих различные аспекты сотрудничества и взаимодействия.

Во встрече приняли участие: председатель комитета международных отношений г-н Санья Прасыт; председатель этнического комитета г-н Кхамчан Сотапасыт; заместитель председателя Лаосского фронта национального строительства г-жа Инлаван Кеобунтхан; заместитель министра внутренних дел г-н Нисит Кеопанья; настоятель прихода благоверного князя Александра Невского в г. Вьентьян иерей Димитрий Лаврентьев; представители Посольства РФ в Лаосе.

On December 9,2024,  a meeting was held in Vientiane between the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, and the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Saysomphone Phomvihane.

During the conversation, which took place in the National Assembly of the Lao PDR, the Patriarchal Exarch conveyed greetings to Mr. S. Phomvihan from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’. Metropolitan Sergiy related about the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church both in Russia and abroad, as well as the current state of affairs in the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia.

The archpastor expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the National Assembly of Laos for assistance in establishing the parish of St. Alexander Nevsky in Vientiane. In turn, Saysomphone Phomvihane highly praised the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Southeast Asian region. The parties then discussed a wide range of issues covering various aspects of cooperation and interaction, the exarchate’s Telegram channel reports.

The meeting was attended by: Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Mr. Sanya Phraseut; Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee Mr. Khamchan Sotapaseut; Deputy Chairman of the Lao Front for National Development Ms. Inlawan Keobounphan; Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Nisith Keopanya; Rector of the Parish of the Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky in Vientiane, Priest Dimitry Lavrentiev; representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Laos.
