8 апреля 2025 года в столице Лаосской Народно-Демократической Республики – городе Вьентьян – первый в истории приход Русской Православной Церкви официально получил разрешение на осуществление религиозной деятельности и учреждение православного храма.

Соответствующий документ был опубликован Министерством внутренних дел Лаоса, отвечающим за регистрацию религиозных организаций на территории страны.

Церемония официальной передачи документа состоялась при участии настоятеля прихода святого благоверного великого князя Александра Невского в Вьентьяне, иерея Дмитрия Лаврентьева, главы представительства «Россотрудничества» в Лаосе Александра Радькова, а также представителей посольства Российской Федерации в Лаосе.

На мероприятии присутствовали главы Департамента религий Фронта национального строительства Лаосской Народно-Демократической Республики и Департамента по делам национальностей и религий Министерства внутренних дел страны.

The parish of the Russian Orthodox Church in Laos received permission to carry out religious activities

On April 8, 2025, in the capital of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the city of Vientiane, the parish of the Russian Orthodox Church, part of the Diocese of Thailand, officially received permission to carry out religious activities and establish an Orthodox church.

The document was published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Laos, which is responsible for registering religious organizations in the country.

The official ceremony of handing over the document took place with the participation of the rector of the parish of the Saint Alexander Nevsky in Vientiane, priest Dmitry Lavrentyev, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Laos Mr. Alexander Radkov, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Laos.

The event was attended by the heads of the Department of Religions of the Front for National Construction of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Department of Nationalities and Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
